Experts... I have just bought a BB 9530...
I am in Nigeria, my carrier..Glo mobile ask me to pay for BB services. I do not want to do that, it is costly. But I want to use my BB to browse the internet. I have downloaded Opera on to my BB (through my Laptop). but it does not launch the setup file. Help guys, what do I need. I also got the browser settings from my carrier, but it will not save on my BB. help guys... I have not being able to input the browser settings too.

Welcome to the forums!

Interent access does require a BlackBerry data plan, unless your device is capable of wifi. Unfortunately the Storm doesn't have that capabailty.

I do not have a BB plan... as I mentioned in my post, it is too expensive to maintain a BB plan.. I understand users with other variants of BB can browse without the BB plan.... maybe if I get a direction on how to install Opera mini or other BB browsers I will get by.

The workaround is carrier dependent, and may not work with your provider. That is the reason that workarounds are not recommended. If you get a BlackBerry data plan, your device WILL function properly.

My feeling is that if you can afford to buy a $500 phone, you should be able afford the right tariff.
