I think by the time they come out the Pearl 2 will have debuted.

So for me that will be the question, will the Pearl 2 support 8GB+ chips. My existing Pearl will go on my emergency backup phone shelf in a cabinet, where my three 7100t phones reside.

As it is, none of my 2006-2007 MP3 players or digital cameras support 4Gb chips, much less an 8GB, so that's a real drag. Only benefit is that when 4Gb becomes standard, the 2Gb chips go way down. 2Gb can be had for about $15 to $20. That's dirt cheap.

the 8gb microSD cards will work fine with current (8300, 8800) and future (Pearl2, 8320, 8310,8820 etc) blackberries.

January 08 is a long time, I was hoping to see them by the holiday season. I expect they will be ~$150-$200 when they are released.

what about working in the 8100? It appears Sandisk is about to relase the 6gb as stated on there website for 99.99 will that work with the 8100? I guess I have no idea why I am posting this as I plan on switching to the Curve or Pearl 2, just don't know which device yet.

Best guess is that it'll work in the original Pearl, as well.
