MY 8100 is running so slow, everytime i click something the hourglass comes up for like 2mins before it loads.

Is there anything i can do to speed it up?

Check your free memory (options > status). You need to have at least 12MB free after a battery pull, rule of thumb. Some get by on less. Do a search on ways to increase your free memory.

Also look at what programs you have left running and close them. Close programs you aren't using. The several core blackberry apps do not close, however.

The only app ive added myself is the scroll wheel colour changing thing.

If i get a larger memory card would that make it go faster?, i have no vids/pics on the phone, only like 30 songs.

Also no apps are running while i dont use them, it seemed to run fine before i updated the firmware to 4.5, could it be to do with that?

A memory card would have no affect in your situation.

Humor me. Do a battery pull. With the power on, remove the battery for 30-60 seconds. After the device boots, open options, then status, and copy and paste your free memory here. Also, does responsiveness significantly improve after the batter pull?

The upgrade to 4.5 could cause some loss in responsiveness, but I don't know. Browse the forum re 8100's and see what others say.

A memory card isn't going to help, except if you have media in main memory, you'll want to move it to the card to make more main memory available.

If you are running an aftermarket theme, you should try switching to a stock theme just as a test to see if it makes a noticeable difference.

takes atleast 5mins jsut to boot up :l

anyway file free: 23569004 bytes
Also it seems to run quicker once everythings allready been opend.

i set a default theme, still doesnt seem to run any quicker, i really think it has to do with me updating the firmware. but i cant see how that can make it slow.

Your free memory is ok.

There are apps that trigger a reset for you, so that you don't have to remove the battery. Some can be put on a timer to reset at a set time. I don't know what to recommend, but you can search. That would be a good idea if things speed up for you after a reset.

I don't know what else to recommend.
