Is there a way to stop text messages from opening when you receive one and flip open the phone?

If the front screen has the text message up in the "preview" mode, it will open the text when you flip the phone open...If you set the external notifications to not show the preview, it will not auto open when you flip your device open.

Another thought is to hit the vol down button with the preview on the front screen to clear the preview, then flip your phone open...it should not open the text then...
