I’ve downloaded slacker (what I would call an XM Radio killer app) and have been using the free version for several days on my Storm (9530, 4.7.0.103) for several days now. I also looked at the Rhapsody App and I just cannot see justifying the cost for it. Maybe I’m missing something here.
Does anyone have and use the Rhapsody application (from Verizon) and if so, how are you using it? Where do you see the benefits?

I use Rhapsody but on a Sansa Fuze. Its GREAT. You pay the monthly fee and get to add as much music to your device as you can. My Fuze has 12GB of space and I have tons of music. And then, you just connect your device once every few weeks to re-authenticate and you can leave the music on your device. I like it because you pick the music - either songs or full albums. Slacker is hot but its more "radio" like.

Rhapsody is just another music/video download service, similar to iTunes but you don't need an apple device to use it. I've used Rhapsody in the past as well as Napster. Now I use iTunes simply because I've got a couple of iPods now.

Rhapsody is "worth it" if you don't currently subscribe to a service like this and you'll be downloading enough music to make the subscription fee worth it. If, on the other hand, you already have a pretty complete mp3 library, it would make much more sense, imo, to simply use Media Center or mass storage mode and transfer your library onto your Storm.

And if you stop paying the monthly fee, do you lose all the music you've "purchased"? Are you, essentially, renting music? And can you play the music on another device?

yes you do lose it because you aren't purchasing it. you're just having it saved on the device for 2 weeks. if you sync music to it, stop paying, then you have 2 or 3 weeks before the files request you re-authenticate by plugging your device in... if you don't... they're disabled.

You can add several devices but they have to be Rhapsody enabled and authenticated w/ rhapsody.

If you have musical A.D.D. (like too many genres, but not all at once), like me, Rhapsody to Go is the perfect service. I've been using it for the past 6 years and like that I have the ability to change up my library with as much music as often as I want. In fact, because the iPod didn't support DRM, I didn't go there. I use the Sansa E280.

I've recently purchased a BB Bold (I'm on AT&T) and am trying to figure out how to use Rhapsody on it. So far, no luck.

I am so unhappy with it.

I'm consistantly having difficulty transfering files downloaded to my computer to my Storm. As far as I know, you have to transfer the subscription files, they can't be downloaded directly to my Storm. I have had three Storms and they all have the same problem

"A problem has occurred in obtaining the devices certificate" and I loose the ability to play subscription files.

My research indicates that this is a fairly common problem. I think Verizon, Real Networks and Blackberry need to get there act together.

Like a lot of things, this device is oversold in it's capabilities and does not work as expected.
