Smile 7100v moved from Vodafone UK to Rogers Canada [RESOLVED]

I have a fully unlocked Vodafone 7100v from when I lived in the UK and I now live in Canada. It works perfectly as a GSM phone worldwide with any SIM I use when I travel.

My problem is that I want to "delete" the PIN/IMEI combination from Vodafone so that I can get my service books from Rogers, instead. I am using just the BWC, not BES.

Of the 9 service books I have, the CMIME one comes from Vodafone and the other 8 (browser, MMS, etc) come from Rogers.

I can not REGISTER for a new account on Rogers because the PIN/IMEI are already registered in the UK according to the Rogers BWC.

I have called Rogers, Vodafone, and RIM. They all tell me to call the other two people who are not on the call. The RIM support person suggested I could ZERO OUT the PIN/IMEI on the Vodafone BWC but I can not "CHANGE HANDHELD" to "0".

The device works perfectly and I am getting emails etc. I just want 100% of the service to come from one Carrier.

Any ideas?

PS: This would apply to any previously owned BB which comes from Vodafone to North America.

the problem is that the blackberry is or BIS/BWC or BES. You can not change this with the help of the provider. But from what do you get emails?

Bob, Thanks for the reply.

The BB is registered on BWC (http://www.mobileemail.vodafone.net/)
I want to "delete" that account and use my current provider, Rogers, instead (https://webclient.blackberry.net/Web...sp?site=Rogers)

RIM suggested I could use "Change Handset" and zero out the PIN and IMEI for my phone but their screen on the above link will not allow that.

Vodafone is a big organisation and won't deal directly with Consumers. They refer me to a retail store no matter how much I beg. The retail store, of course, can not help me with this. Rogers can't help me (they view it as sabotage to alter another carrier's account?) and RIM won't help me and Vodafone UK doesn't "know how" to help me.

I didn't fully read your message, Bob:

I am getting my CMIME (Mobile Email) Service Book from Vodafone UK from their website (see just above).

The other 8 service books are coming from Rogers (but NOT the email one, because I can't create a "new" account on their website with this PIN/IMEI...)

RESOLVED: Some very helpful people at RIM (Partner Operations, Research in Motion (UK) Ltd ) were able to contact Vodafone on my behalf.

RIM had them remove the BIS service for my device, effectively deleting me from Voda UK entirely. I was then able to successfully use the Rogers BWC client to connect myself to the right services in Canada.

Hooray for RIM (again) and especially Ravi & Clare.
