Default No thick covering on 8900 LCD?

Please Login to Remove!

So apparently the 8900 doesn't have the thick cover over the LCD like the 8300 series did. Readers Digest version, thin LCDs have never held up for me unless they are pampered, trust me they just don't.
Is there an aftermarket case that can protect the LCD from flexing? A simple film sticker won't do.

The outer plastic on the 8300 lcd is not thick at all.

Yeah that, along with the weak ringer/viberator and dim backlit keypad, was my biggest initial complaint.

Only time will tell the integrity of the 8900 ultra thin LCD covering, but right now I use the OEM leather pouch and place it either in my suit pocket or jeans pocket since the whole thing is actually about the same size, if not smaller, than my wallet.

Also note, unlike the previous Curve 83** Series, the 8900 outer cover screen is not replaceable by itself. So if you crack, scratch or scrape up the outer screen you would have to replace the entire LCD unit assembly because the outer screen is one with the LCD below it.

Repeat after me "cha-ching...$$$$"

In the meantime get a BestSkins or a thick plastic screen protector.

Realitively it is incredibly thick. It barely flexes if I press into it. I don't have a force gauge sitting around to prove it but it is quite obvious between a 8320 and a 8900.
