insert a new record into an existing recorded file

I am trying to create an application which is capable of recording audio and then modifying it. It should be able to record audio, then retrieve it later and play, insert a new recording into the present file ,overwrite the files. I am using an instance of Player class to record and play the file as is mentioned in the support forums. The application should be also able to rewind and Fast forward through the selected media file and play,insert,overwrite from a desired position by the user. How to implement this?Does Blackberry provide any API to manage media files?
