Quick update - the only work around I found is I have to do the ALT-S to go into my SMS folder, from there use the menu to Compose SMS and select the person from there. I still have an issue this...

Ok, I'll admit this is weird but here goes. This is the 2nd time it has happened to me - 1st on my old Bold 9700 that was exchanged due to squeaky side rails and now a 2nd time on my new Bold 9700....

if i'm correct - i have an 8820 - i still keep my data connection live (wifi) while i'm on a phone call (EDGE). i can test tonight to make sure but do *think* the dual mode (assuming one is wifi)...

get a new AT&T branded 8800

I've been through maybe 4 Cingular branded 8800s all which squeak after a few weeks.

I tried a few of the 8830s, and I was shocked at how amazingly sturdy, tight, squeak free these units are ......

i have the same; the reverb on mine doesn't read to be as bad as your device, but nevertheless the unit will go back for a swap near the end of my return period hoping it is simply a first-batch bug

i have both an 8800 and 8830; contrary to public reports that the 8830 is a half inch taller, there's no noticable difference in size beyond the 8830 being a hair thicker so cases will fit fine
