Default Disappearing Memory

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Tour 9630 running OS 5.0..0.975. I have the following apps installed:
Bank of America 1.1
Battery Watch 1.7.20
berryweather 2.5.53
beyound limit 0.9.50.68
Bloomberg Mobile 1.10.7.11
Docs to Go 2.0004.018
gmail 2.0.7
Google Maps 4.5.2
My Verizon 6.0.0
PD lists 1.8
SplashID 5.0.3
Mobihand Superstore2.02.355
TaskMaster 2.0.11

When I updated the OS I first wiped the device with BBSAK.
Then after installing the apps I had a little over 100MB free. That was about 6 months ago. Now after a batter pull I have about 16MB free which quickly disappears.

Is there anything I can do short of wiping the device and starting over?

Thanks!

Joe

Dubdub - Thanks - I have long since done all of the suggestions in the Memory link. MY total application database is only about 3MB and my problem is the approximately 80MB that is disappeared. Any other thoughts??
Thanks

When you go to Options > Status and select "Database Sizes" from the Menu, are there any entries there are are showing a large amount of memory used (particularly messages)?

Also, do you have any media or documents stored in the Device Memory?

Do you have Google Maps running? Do you notice a difference when it's not running?

The total size of the databases show in "Database size" is less than 3MB. All documents are on the media card. There are only 2 databases in the main memory -- PDlists and SplsdhID. I cant imagine that their databases could be extremely large.

What about these databases? Attachment Data? Content Store? Messages? SMS? MMS?

You reported only two databases shown. That doesn't make sense, unless something is corrupted. The 3MB total as an amount doesn't seem out of the ordinary (I have 10.5 MB total) all by itself, but you should see a long list of databases. That makes me think something is corrupted and likely related to what you are seeing with memory.

I'd back up, wipe, and reinstall the OS, restore personal data, and start over.

Actually that is what I was afraid that I would have to do. I just hate to do it since I will hopefully be upgrading within the next couple of months.
thanks

Something a little less intrusive would be to remove some applications. You could do it in different approaches. Such as:

- remove one at a time, monitoring memory as you remove.

or

- remove all of them, then add one back at a time, monitoring memory as you add.

It won't hurt to try other measures first....try tsac's suggestion, and if that doesn't do it then a security wipe. Do the OS wipe and reinstall if all else fails.

Thanks to all of you for the help! I bricked it last night and re-installed everything. Now 111MB free and it looks like much better battery life now.
