hi all,
I have just bought a new BB 8310. Its ace and i love it.
I have setup my gmail account on here.
I am able to receive emails and reply easy enough.

My concern is, how do i access my email addresses and email those who have not emailed be before???

Im not sure what you mean - but when i log into my gmail account via the browser, all my email addresses are saved there in the contacts.

you have to manually save each contact... at least, that's what i did.

oh dear - that would be extremel time consuming!!!
surely there is an easier way?
Does the blackberry not allow you to query the Gmail contacts?

Not through the email program. If you logon to the gmail webmail site, you can access your contacts that way.

you have to put them in your address book, put them in a email and send it to your self, that way you can just select it and hit compose or something like that. someone please correct me if i am wrong..i should be right though.

I believe you can export your contacts into your address book (MAC). I then synced my Mac with my blackberry and there was all my contacts on my BB.
select "contacts" in gmail.

select "export"
it will then ask "who do you want to export" and "what format" make your selections and away you go.

then sync.

I am willing to bet that there is a way to export your contacts to ms outlook and from outlook you can put them in your phone's address book. Just search the settings of gmail for how to export contacts. Almost every web based email program has a way to export contacts in a .csv format which outlook will understand.

yeah ya can export to outlook. Done it a bunch of times. Think I had to do a confangled way to do it though, cant remember, its been awhile. This is the reason it pays to use a comp based address book as your main one as apposed to usin a web based address book as your main.

In gmail (standard/ajax view), contacts, click export upper right, select the format you want. Click the Export link below formats.
