Just activated my 8820 on the company BES. Used for couple weeks before only as a phone and everything worked fine, including the Wi-Fi. Strabne enough, after activation, Wi-Fi dissapeared from phone. I suspect this is some internal BES policy that erased that. Is this possible? Is there any way to restore wi-fi without installing the full OS?
If it is company rule to wipe it...then it will be probably wiped again..but worth trying anyway.
I have also noticed the App Loader disaperead from Desktop manager - but that I can easily reinstall. I really liked the wi-fi and want that back. The IT BES admin..obviously does not seem to be a good friend of mine in the future.
Once on a BES, your device is at the mercy of the BES administrator.
If the IT Policy placed on your device prohibits the use of WiFi, then there's nothing you can do about it, aside from removing your device from the BES.
Additionally, the app loader in Desktop Manager can also be removed by the BES administrator.
Contrary to what you think, you won't be able to reinstall it easily.
If third-party application installation has been restricted, then there's no way you can get around that either.
The IT Policy rules the device, and desktop manager.
Thanks a lot. I have to live with that . I will give a try in any case once new official OS will be available. For now will enjoy the other functions (still) available.
