Wirelessly posted (Curve 8330)

I mentioned in another thread that I reinstalled my OS (4.3) because of app error 200 and everything went fine, then did a restore of all my data and all is good.

Well now I notice that my applications list in advanced options is empty except for some 3rd party apps I have installed OTA (Beejive; Viigo). But all of my standard apps are all still installed and seem to work fine.

The other problem is that I now have two identical browser icons. I have tried deleting all of the browser service books and resending but it just keeps putting them both on.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What OS did you install?
What application are missing?

Did you do a battery pull, reboot, after deleting those service books for the browser?

I reinstalled 4.3 for my VZW Curve. I got it from the Verizon website.

All of my applications seem to be installed and working fine, but if I go into Options/Advanced Options/Applications that list is empty except for the apps that I have installed OTA. The list used to contain ALL of my apps and I'm wondering why they aren't listed anymore. They all work, but aren't in the list of apps. Does that make sense?

I did a alt/shift/delete after resending service books. Is that the same as doing a battery pull? Should I do the reboot after deleting the browser books and before resending again?

Thanks.

I just tried it again, deleted service books for browser (confirmed both browser icons were gone), rebooted, then resent all service books. Both browser icons are back. I'll have to call Verizon.

I'm still perplexed by my applications list in Options being empty.

A soft reset of Alt Shift Delete is the same (close though) as a battery pull reboot. Therefore, my recommendation of such.

So, what applications are missing, again?

It seems I fixed the applications list problem. For some reason whenever I connected to Desktop Manager all of my core applications would be unchecked and I would have to check them again to avoid them being uninstalled. I don't know how to better explain that one. So I just let it uninstall them and then I connected again and rechecked all the boxes and it reinstalled everything. Now when I look at my Applications list in Options everything is there again. I know that sounds really convoluted but I don't know how to better explain it.

I still have the two browser icons though but it seems that it must be a Verizon problem because I've tried deleting and resending service books several times now, with reboots in between, and it keeps putting two icons on my homescreen. I'll just hide one of them and call Verizon.

Thanks for your help.

Update: Just got off the phone with Verizon, they can't figure out the double browser thing and everything they tried would again wipe all applications from the applications list in Options, so they are going to let me return for a brand new (NOT refurbished) device (this one is just barely over the 30 days) so that's what I'm going to do today.
