I think you missed the point of my question.
I want to know why someone would need to download and then extract a .rar archive directly on the BlackBerry device.

you'd better said "don't Know" rather than "no" if you just wan't to say "why??"

for opening comressed files, zip or rar you can download & install "AERIZE Explorer" to yr BB..

everything is made for something
