Default Light Up When SMS Arrives?

I know this thread has probably been started, but need to know how to get my 8330 to light up when an SMS arrives...

Yes, it has been, and no it won't. There is a third party application which might do it, posted over in our Aftermarket Software section.

BBLight does this, as well. You can find it in the Aftermarket Software stickys.

And it's free.

I downloaded BBLight and I don't see the feature to make it light up on SMS...Care to point out where it is?

I do not understand why RIM would exclude such a basic feature besides to save battery life...but at the same time I don't think it would make that much of a difference

Did you download the latest version? You may have downloaded an older version that didn't include that option.

RIM excludes plenty of basic features, but I guess everyone here just deals with them by paying for 3rd party apps >.>
