Default remove sent from my verizon blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I read the FAQ's on how to remove "sent from my verizon wireless blackberry." I couldn't remember my username and password so I entered my PIN to have the password sent to me. I got a message saying that a username and password don't exist and to use my device to access BIS. But on the site it says that I have to have a username and password to get email. I currently get all my earthlink email with no problem and can't remember if I set up a username and password when I set it up. Can I remove this and add a signature on the device or is there another way to do it? Thanks.

did you ever set up a logon through your BB? Verizon is weird and they let you add email accounts to your BIS without setting it up. If not, create on through the email setup icon on your BB, then log in via BIS site

I suggest you do a search as this has been asked many times. Basically you log into your BIS account and edit each email account to delete/change the signature.

Thanks for the quick response - I think I setup my email through the setup wizard but can't remember. Should I run through that process again? I did find under e-mail settings that it lists my earthlink email and says I can edit it, but it only lets me view the signature and not change it. Is there somewhere that I can get specific instructions. Thanks again

The OP stated he can't log into his BIS, and Verizon doesn't force you to create a username/PW to add email addresses through the device itself.

when you are in there on your BB, does it give you the option to "Log out"?

I can edit or delete the account, add an email account or create a blackberry email address. If I'm too clueless just let me know. I don't want to drive anyone nuts

I'm going nuts. Thanks for the link, I tried to create an account and it said that an account already exists for this device. But when I request my password it tells me that the username and password don't exist. So I'm apparently trying to set up a BIS account that I don't have but actually do and can't access

That is very odd. You might want to (gulp) call Verizon and see if they can reset your BIS account.

Isn't calling Verizon as effective as talking to a brick wall?

Just in case someone else has this problem. I called Verizon. You were correct Nick - I did set up my earthlink email without creating an account. By doing this and not setting up a username and password, I was locked out from doing so. The only solution was to have verizon set up an account and username and password for me. There was no way I could do this on my own. Once they set up the account I was able to follow the original instructions, log into BIS and change the signature. So hopefully if someone has this same problem they can now search it and find a resolution. Verizon's number is 1-800-922-0204. I just needed to provide my PIN. Thanks again!

If you have checked here first, you can usually tell the tech all the things you have already tried, which makes them realize you aren't you everyday user that just needs to do a battery pull. I have found many times once I tell them all the steps I've taken already, they immediately escalate my call to the next level of BB support, and those people are quite helpful.
