Any chance that this is available for a Verizon Blackberry?

Open up the browser and go to VZW Navigator, IM for Verizon is listed. It is a program that gives you AIM, MSN and Yahoo! IM. I have it and it works good.

That's why I said "Looks like it." It's also why everyone is so fond of JiveTalk or whatever they call it now that there was the hissy fit over naming.

The VZW solution is SMS-based, not data -- be careful if you don't subscribe to unlimited texting.

I belive your information is outdated. vzw's app now uses data for the messages, however it uses one sms to log on, and 1 to log off.

I am downloading it now. It says every message sent and received is charged as an SMS message.

Check out Jive Talk unless you have unlimited SMS messages. It costs, but not much, and it is the gold standard.

PS - the application icon is pathetic! c'mon Verizon, I could have done better than that!

Also, it does not show your buddy list. Only shows contact in a group named "Mobile Device".

I won't use it that often, so I'm fine with the SMS. None of my real friends are ever online much anymore. I think I have 250 SMS messages/month.
