Default Help: uncaught exception

Please Login to Remove!

I have 8310 with OS 4.2, AT&T service and BES. It runs fine for several months.

I installed Desktop Manager 4.5 on a laptop to use it as a mass storage drive. After that, it runs into an application error and needs to reset. Then I got the following errors:

uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

uncaught exception: applicationregistry.waitfor (reference number) timeout

There is no email on the device. The phone does not ring either!

The desktop software can no longer recognize the device for sync.

What went wrong and how can I get things back in order?

Thanks!

Start with a powered-on battery-pull reboot.

Your thread title there was "Help!". You might try to be a bit more intriguing in your title choice next time.

No 3rd party software or theme. BB theme. Pulled the battery many times. Interesting, browser and internet is fine. I get indicator that I have email but can't read them. Phone is not ringing.

Ok 2 ways if you are able to go to e-mail setup on your BB and log in to your service provider. Then at the bottom there is a link to re send service books

The other way is on the computer. Same deal go to the service provider site. Log in with your user name and PW.
Find the link to re send service books.
Now I would also see if you need to repair the manager you use. Look at add remove programs and if you use XP then press the remove. It will come up to either add-remove or repair.
Try repair first and see if it helps. Roxio is a PITA if you have it with the manager. Sometimes it gives problems

Sorry I misread. Just did that on ATT website. How do I know if the service book is received?

Thanks!

You should get a reply on your phone e-mail saying your phone has been registered.

I agree about going to 4.5.0.52 or 69. Still I would do it from a clean wiped BB with a re install of the Manager.
