Thanks, John. But, I don't know how to resend my service books.
I am on BES with an 8820 running this OS version. Are you saying I need to do something else in order for HTML email to work?
Well, I searched the site for resend service books, and came across this link: blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_resend_my_service_books%3F
It seems like that is for BIS though.

Unless your Admins have updated the BES to version 4.1.6 then you won't get html email. If you were to setup a BIS account, say for your personal internet email, those emails would show up in html format.

I'm in the same boat. No html on my BES mail but I do get it in my BIS mail. Hopefully, our admins will update to BES 4.1.6.

One thing I have noticed that I don't like from this upgrade, is that my folders or hidden icons are reset after a reboot. I have added the folder icons and wallpapers as mentioned in 8800 OS thread, the file for 320x240 for 83xx, 88xx, 8700 devices. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or if it's just some kind of glitch.
Edit: I found this thread in the themes section: http://www.blackberryforums.com/medi...eme-4-5-a.html which is the theme I am using. It must be only theme related.

Yeah, today plus isn't working correctly with 4.5. Doesn't remember icon location/status after reboot.
Just waiting for some new themes to be released for 4.5. Most of my older themes that worked on 4.2 work on 4.5 but the message screen defaults back to the RIM theme I believe. Kind of annoying.

Many have discussed that this happens with today themes. They have extracted the themes from 4.5.0.18 and used them in the later versions and had success.

Ok... after whiting out again, and having video glitches, the screen has now completely packed in. Also the sd card is not showing up on OS X. Will see if downgrading OS helps...

Pah... I have to get my handset replaced. Is there anyway this could have been caused by upgrading the OS? I tried wiping it with JLCommander and reinstalling 4.2.2 as well.

How long should it take to upgrade a device? After uploading the new firmware, my unit keeps showing the spinning hourglass thing on bootup. It's been doing it for at least a half an hour.

Quickest mine's gone is 45 minutes. Not unusual to go over an hour. Just be patient brah!
From the instructions on page one of this post:
Quote:
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."

almost every time, when i go to phone book, and select contact - press menu on it and select "call" or "sms" - phone throws me to "last calls log" for no reason... then i have to press back button, and reconfirm the action (call, or sms) and this time it works...
anyone else can confirm this?

Wirelessly posted
This doesn't seem to be happening to me. Menu button on a contact in the phone log, brings up the menu, select "SMS", works the first time every time.
Edit: As asked above, this is also working correctly from the address book. Doesn't bring up the call logs list.

Please, help! I installed this latest software on my 8820 in order to the Russian font support. Everything went ok, but now I am still not able to receive mails written in cyrillic. It just transmits empty space instead of cyrillic letters. What may be the problem?
Thanks, Alex

I've just been site a link to update to this from Orange UK as part of a solution to a problem I'm having with my voicemail icon not going away. There's no reason the Orange UK version would be at all different to this version is there?
The info is:
Package Version: 4.5.0.75
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.52
Software Platform: 2.7.0.66
File name: 8820M_PBr4.5.0_rel75_PL2.7.0.66_A4.5.0.52_Orange_U K.exe
75.922MB
I ask, because I had installed this previously and it didn't fix my problem with the voicemail icon. Now I'm on the next OS up...
