May I ask you kind people for the links to the 4.5 OS, and whether or not it works for the AT&T 8310?

(I apologize for being completely in the dark - I just picked up a new Curve last night after being lost in Apple/Nokia land for a while.)

I am having a problem with .69 rebooting while on a phone call. It seems to only happen on longer calls and not all the time. It also only seems to happen when I am not on the bluetooth.

I've searched and only found one guy with an 8100 who had this problem awhile back but no solution.

Anyone else, or any thoughts.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

I've had this happen once now. Don't know why but I actually had logs sent to RIM. It happened to me on UMA. In the logs there was a null pointer exception in the pone app just a minute or two before the reboot. Don't know if I'll ever hear back or not, though.

I have .69 installed. I run heavy phone during the day on regular work days. I will be testing this .69 next week and will watch for this. So far everything works great. Especially like the formatting.

I just installed .69 and the color folders are back. None of the other media like pictures is there (except ringtones) so it looks like they've gotten just the folders back on without all the big space wasters.

I believe that's been posted about already. They added back a small .cod file for just the folder icon colors. Preloaded wallpapers have been removed by RIM to free up memory. They did a little "optimizing" of their own!

Now for the big test...by the way I use about 10,000 mins or more a month..so the 4.5.069 will get a test drive

Default keyboard lock issue

i was running the ATT released HH SW and just upgraded to .69 and now Alt+Enter is not locking the keyboard like it has forever.
is there a setting i am missing with the newer HH SW?

thought it might be a device issue so i wiped the device with JL CMDR and put the ATT released HH SW on there and ALT+Enter locks the keyboard fine

upgraded to .69 HH SW and ALT+ENter is no workie again

any ideas?

I have a couple ideas:

1. Use the standby feature. Push and hold the mute button on the top of the device for about 1 second. That will put the device in standby and lock the keys, as well. To bring it out of standby, simply tap the mute button again. I use this all the time when it's in my pocket.

2. Disable "Dial From Home Screen" under phone options and use the "K" key to lock the keyboard. You can still dial the same way, just hit the green phone button first. With this method you get a bonus! You get "M" for Messages, "N" for Messenger, "O" for Options, and many more.

I have NEVER used alt + enter to lock the keyboard.

JC

do you ever sleep?

i will try the second option when i get done with EA.

the first option doesnt function like you mention as it just locks the screen and if i press the mute button again it will unlock the screen. i have my keyboard time out set to 30 minutes so that might be the reason.. maybe its my device or the way i have the settings...i will try it once i am done with EA

thanks JC

Standby is different than keyboard lock. It locks the keys though. The only keys that will function are the mute key (to bring it out of standby) and the main 4 keys will light the screen for only a moment to tell you that it's in standby. Personally, if you aren't looking for a security feature and just want to keep from accidental dialing, etc., the standby method is easier.

Additionally, I hide all the icons that have shortcut keys. No need for them and gives me my screen real estate back for other apps.

John, thinking about making the move to 4.5. Should I try .55 or wait for the release of .69.

4.2.2.170, so it will be a major jump for me. Been chomping at the bit to try 4.5 for sometime now.
