I have my default email set to my gmail address. Whenever I email one particular person the email is sent from my tmo.blackberry.net address. Why is that? Is there a way to fix this?

Email will default to the last address used for that person. Have you tried to manually force an email to that person to the gmail address to see if it will then switch to gmail for him/her from that point forward?

How do you select default and how do you know which e-mail is default? I keep sending things personal off work time through my work e-mail. they are than saved in my sent box within my e-mail box, but also once they go through the work e-mail they are in the archive for 7 years. I don't like this!

That actually sounds like your BES admin has restricted outbound mail to go via BES. You can't do anything except remove your personal email accounts from BIS and not use your BB for personal email if that's the case.

Without the restriction in place, BES and BIS are completely separate. Outbound BIS email doesn't end up in your BES sent items.

As always -- if you want to keep it private then keep it off a company BES-connected BB.
