Unhappy Alternate or second line

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have a Nextel i560 with two phone lines. One for my job and one perrsonal. The phone and direct connect are paid for by my job andI pay forr the second line for my personal use. My job will be updating to the Blackberry 7100i. I dont think this unit supporrts 2 lines. Anyway possible to make this happen or will I now have to carry 2 seperate phones? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Second phone is really your only option at this point.

When we migrated away from the nextel phone we looked into the 2 line issue since we had several people set up like you mentioned. No go on blackberry devices. Looks like a second phone for you.

What we really found was that as an organization we were able to negotiate a better contract with a ton of minutes pooled and therefore allowed people to use the phone for personal calls. The cost was cheaper and the employees also benefited. Have not even come close to hitting the top end of the pooled minutes.

I would love to see RIM join the other phone makers to incorporate support for second phone line allowing me to eliminate my current land line at home. Carrying two devices is not optimal or desirable.

My thought exactly. I have a "work phone" and a "personal BlackBerry". I forward my work phone to my BlackBerry during the week and cancel the forward and turn off the work phone on the weekend, that way the work voicemails go to the work phone. Friday and Monday are the only days I touch the work phone.
