Everything went great!

Anyone know how I can get the Blackberry messenger out of the instant messaging folder?

Yes, highlight it and hit menu key. Select "Move." Then move it to the "up" icon.

Lightbulb You know what I think would be really FANTASTIC???

Hey all,

I was just thinking, I check these threads frequently to try to make a decision on whether or not to upgrade to the "latest/greatest" thing around. Sometimes, it seems like they are not so great, though. Either way, I spend lots of time (hours?) reading through these things.

I wonder if the posters (or a moderator) would be willing to modify the top post to include known bugs. I am thinking that since it isn't being done, there must be a good reason, but is it possible that I came up with a really good (and simple) idea that would help many people like myself?

If this is possible, I think a good way to group bugs would be (Confirmed-all,Confirmed-some,Reported-some) where they mean, respectively (It for sure affects everyone, It for sure affects some, it may or may not affect some). This is just a preliminary thought.

Also, a list of known benefits (over the previous version) would be helpful, along with a link to the previous version's similar post (I see that this was done in this post).

Am I crazy here, or is this a good idea?

Thanks for reading my (half-brained?) post.

It's a great idea but means a lot of time to keep it up to date. There are so many different OS threads that it would just take too much time for us to update it.

With the salary you get paid from being a BB MOD you wouldn't take the time to do this?? Shocking!

I don't see my ring tones in that are stored on my SD card when I go through the Media Player with .55. Anyone else have this problem?

Do you have the device plugged into the pc? The card will disappear on the device when plugged into the pc.

Nope. I see all my MP3's fine that are in the music directory but all the ringtones dont show up. If I do a custom ring tone in my address book all my custom ring tones show that are on my SD card.

Okay, here's my deal (Because I'm not going to read all 350 posts).

I upgraded to 55 and thDM said it couldn't load the application at the end of about 45 minutes. But the phone has 4.5.0.55 on it. The camera works, but now my e-mail and SMS are the same icon? WTF.

I like Emails under one icon, and MMS/SMS in another, and on the other side of my menu.

Is there something I can do to fix this? No, the icon isn't hidden - I tried that.

I got this from the upgradesection server. It didn't look like the site was entirely in English.

I'm just confused. I may drop back down to .37 - no camera, but everything else was awesome.

I'm not happy with this. I think it's either a bad call for me, or I'm missing something.

I also lost my phone book.

I'm dropping back to .52 until someone tells me what I did wrong

It sounds like it just didn't restore the backup completely. You can selectively restore individual databases from the backup. Just restore the phonebook database and whatever else didn't make it back to the handheld. I've had this happen once in a while with no explanation.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Also there is a setting in email options that allows you to separate or combine email and SMS.

I just restored back to the .69 package (basically.52 with some stuff), and I restored my phne book and SMS messages from a month ago when I upgraded. Although the messages are old, I have everything again.

I'm going to try it again tonight, but I may need help to separate the two messages and keep things working again.

Thanks for the input!
