Default Help with documents to go

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,

Here is what happened... Installed Docs to Go with 4.5.... did the "free upgrade" to get the excel reader so went from version 1.000.08 to 1.002...

However I am guessing that DM app loaded "downgraded" me back to 1.000.08 since I lost the excel reader and I remember it removing modules for docs to go when I installed another app a couple days later.

But when I use the "check for upgrades" feature it tells me that the version that I have 1.002

My question is I am wondering if there is a way to get the excel reader back AND how do I prevent DM from downgrading it again the next time I run it?

You need to uninstall DTG do a battery pull and then reinstall and repeat the upgrade. Then delete or rename the DTG.alx file on your PC BB loader files. They are found in program files/common/research in motion/apps/ or something like that. Sorry I don't have my PC running to double check but it is in the same general area where you deleted the vendor file.

This will prevent the app loader from downgrading your DTG.

Rename the DTG alx file back to the original. Then follow what I SIAD before. Uninstall, pull the battery, reinstall, upgrade DTG, THEN rename the DTG alx file. When you plug the BB back in it won't try to downgrade anywore.

And a related/unrelated question everytime I run app loader when I get to the screen when it lists what is going to be deleted and installed it says that it is deleting something called "basque"?

I know, this is a bit odd and I ran into that as well. Even though it said it was deleting, it never seemed to and it got quite annoying having that pop-up evertime I connected my BB. I resolved it by just checking the box and having it load. It appears as though it is a Basque language support module and is fairly small so it won't overload your device memory. Fair trade for getting rid of the annoyance!

The basque language alert can be ignored. It is a glitch in one of the OS 4.5 upgrades. Cancel it.

Unless you are Basque.

The Basque language is particularly useful if you're a terrorist operating in Spain. Basically, it's almost exclusively used by terrorists and sodomites.
