Try to clear a few things up
-They most likley will give you a better price but it also may be difficult because it is brand new and they'll most likley be running a promo, but you'll have to see.
-You dont need to buy a sim. It comes with all new Rogers phones, and it is included in a $30 activation fee which is easy to get them too wave
-Usually they would ship the phone and activate your sim card (but you may need to activate the SIM yourself when you get the phone, by calling..not 100% sure)
-If you call and get a price and a deal or whatever, dont even bother going to the store and say you got priced at this. They'll call their number, talk to another rep and give you a whole new price...believe me its not worth it. If you can get what you like over the phone and theres no need to go to a store, at all costs, avoid the store.
-At the store in order to activate the new SIM, they call their 'people' and they do some stuff down there and voila you have a working phone. I dont see why that if you get the phone shipped to you, why you couldnt do the whole activation yourself over the phone...I may be mistaken...there may be somesort of protocal issues
-Rogers and Fido have no affiliation that i'm aware of, therefore they do not care when your billing cycle ends. If you keep your Fido number and transfer it to Rogers, you will need to terminate your Fido plan, which will cost you...lots. If your getting a whole new number then your pretty much forced to stop your Fido plan anyways because your going to be paying for 2 cell phone services. They will still charge you for an entire month even if you only use a days worth of service.
Hope this helped
You may love the service Rogers provides, but my god will they ever make you pay for thier plans and price of phones ;)
