you can install the application all you want, and even backup/restore the service book for the client, however, it won't work. the issues are this: 1) the application requires a YHO service book to work; 2) when you restore the service book, you overwrite all of your other service books, thus you have to re-register on the network to get back the others, thus wiping out the Yahoo service book's gateway.

unless you're on Nextel or Rogers, whom have the Yahoo client provisioned, you won't be able to use this application. i almost find it offensive they'd put exclusivity on this product, assuming thats what this is... if not, TMO's greed factor has jumped up way too much on this one.

It can't be installed to a PC to load through Desktop Manager. You must have your BB connected to the computer before attempting to install it. The page loads it directly onto the BB....

yah it checks the config of the bb through the pc... then errors out. Yah 7290 is one of the only bb's from rogers that isnt supported yet. I heard they were having alot of issues with it prior to the release date. soooooooo if you cant load it onto a pc... then theres no acces to cod files?

i have the COD files and a custom ALX if you want me to email them to you, MRC. just PM me. i'm not sure if it'll do you any good if you can get the service book, so see if you can do a new registration in the Host Routing Table options and get the Yahoo book.

I really never have gone through my Cingular MEdia Section and noticed that my 7290 does have a Yahoo Messenger installed. Does this version utlilize SMS like TMO as mentioned above?

Probably just because I got up and have not had my coffe but you are saying that the Cingular MEdia edition is all data? I know the new Rogers/Nextel versions are all data.

(As I now Berry 411 for the nearest Starbucks....)

Has anyone tested any yahoo booters against your YID on your HH ?

I'm sure most ppl have the unlimited data; but, for those who do not, getting hit with 1000s of instant messages could be costly.

either read this forum - there's an Aftermarket Software sub-forum - or, if you are specifically referring to the Yahoo IM client, then wait a bit.
