Default Gps Draining Battery

Please Login to Remove!

I was loving the Nav4 GPS, but now that it's draining my battery quickly, I had to go buy a car charger.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any optiolns? Nothing esle is running during the time.

TIA

I'm with Verizon, so my internal GPS is collecting dust, but my experience with other phones is that this is normal.

Default Not a problem with telenav

harper828,

I am an ex-cab driver so I know where everything is in Knoxville but still I'm with AT&T too but have been testing out the AT&T's Telenav and have had no problem with it. When your using your Nav4 GPS how long are you using it, Long trips ? out of state ? GPS is good for short travel times but if your going out of state Its best to have a car charger and also remember the harder your phone fights to get a signal the faster your battery gets drained.

Hold on. Are you saying that if you use it for a long time your battery drains quickly or than just in general, since you started using Nav4All, that your battery life has decreased whether you use the app or not?

I know with Telenav I have the backlight always enabled and if I keep it running for 30 minutes or longer I go ahead an connect the BB to the car charger or else the battery is nearly dead at the end of the trip.

The radio is on a lot more for the GPS so it's expected that it would drain faster

You need a data plan to get the maps.

It was a 2+ hour trip. It worked great, even did searches for restaurants and shops along the way. Love that it alerted me when I didnt have a signal.

Thanks!
