Default 8830 Bluetooth 'Discoverable'

Please Login to Remove!

Under the options on the Bluetooth on my 8830, there is a term 'Discoverable'
I have looked and cannot find out what this means. My default is set on no.

Discoverable is the mode you put a BT device into so it be detected (discovered) by another BT device, so that they can be "paired" to work together. eg. BT headset and BT phone, or a MAC computer and BT wireless keyboard and wireless BT mouse.

Thanks for your answer! If it is paired sucessfully with my car, is there any reason to leave it in the 'discoverable' mode?

Once paired it does not need to be discoverable.

Just remember - you can pair your BT Blackberry with both a BT headset, as well as your built in BT answering system of your car. It will then link with either one - your car when you are driving, or the headset if you were walking down the street.

What is the difference between discoverable "Yes", "No", and "2 minutes"?
