Default 8330 battery life?

Please Login to Remove!

I am a recent curve owner(since last thursday) from an 8830 world edition and the curve battery sucks i haven't used it much at all this week and it's dead by the time i get home. The world edition would last a day and a half under heavy use and today because of training i didn't use it once and still dead before i walked into my house. What gives????????

What OS are you running?

4.5 has offered much better battery life in my usage compared to 4.3.

I went down to the local alltel store and told them about my battery issues and was told that it was a common problem w/ the 8330 curves and they just warrentied the battery. Today heavy use and when I got home still had 75% left.

Wirelessly posted

Did a battery swap out help you out? I've had my Curve for 2 weeks moved from an 8830 and I am experiencing thing you are.

For folks with battery issues, what OS are you on?

SteveO86 - you may want to try 4.5.

Yea, I downloaded 4.5.0.77 last week just never installed it on my 8330, I guess now is just as good a time as any. Besides not as much a drastic change going from 4.3 to 4.5, compared to my 8830 4.2.2 to 4.5.

I'll run it for a few days and post back.

Does it still suffer from the bug were it will clear your BBM friends?

Haven't seen that on my update at all. Everything works like it should.

The swap solved all my problems. The batt that came w/ my 8330 would take 6-7hrs to charge, the new one 2hrs tops. My phone is just now running low on power and that's after 36hrs. If your phone is that new and having the same problem I was, I would go back to were ever u got it and have them replace the battery

I've noticed my 8330 to have about the same battery life as my old 8830, now that I've loaded .77. The battery life was noticeably shorter using the standard vzw os that came on the device.

Hmm. So far I have been using 4.5 for just a day so I want to give a little while longer before I make a remark on battery life with 4.5

I might just swing by VZW and get a new battery if I have time this weekend.
