Question forgot to delete vendor.xml what are the ramifications?

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded to 4.5.66 the other day, however, I didn't delete the vendor.xml file (just plain forgot...) Everything is working properly... Are there any long term ramifications from this??

Thanks

Did your device upgrade? Usually, not deleting the vendor.xml will prevent the device from upgrading, unless the vendor happens to be yours. If it upgraded, and eveyything seems fine, it probably is.

Yeah, everything is working fine.. I resent service books to get HTML email working, other than that, no issues at all...

And I must say... 4.5 rocks!!

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

If its beta, it shouldn't be an issue. When your carrier releases an official version, it should not upgrade as mentioned above.

The betas do not require Vendor.XML to be removed.
There's not short or long term impact. Nothing.

If you look at a carrier released OS it has a vendor.xml file that's around 150kb's--meaning there is data in it. If you look at a vendor.xml from a beta release (not released by a carrier) the vendor.xml is only 1kb. There is no data in it.
