Default Create Connector over BIS

Please Login to Remove!

javax.microedition.io.Connector

I can create Connector via BES (using deviceside = false) or via direct TCP (using deviceside = true).

How I can create Connector via BIS?

I've been looking for that too.. its almost impossible to get that information, and RIM doesnt want to give that info unless you subscribe to their Independent Developing program, which they charge you for that. (even on their forums they say that its impossible, i got the other information from emailing a person inside RIM)

If you find something regarding this let me know...

I don't have BIS, but I see possibility of BIS connection in different programs.
First - JiveTalk
beejive :: JiveTalk mobile messaging
Second - Opera mini

What do think about this screen?

Yes I know its possible, and some programs support it (you can search over here, onces i created a thread of working apps thru bis-b). The problem is that no one will tell you how you can do it.. unless of course you pay RIM and they will tell you how (even on their forums they still say its not possible, like if they want to have the amateur programers out of using BISB network for their programs)

If you have the IPPP for BIBS service record on your device then you should be able to append the following to the Connector.open() string argument to get the connection working through BIS:

;deviceside=false;connectionUID=<UID contained in IPPP for BIBS service record>

I used ConnectionType as well, and it also worked great for me... didn't have to input apn info or anything.

Anyone know why RIM keeps this a secret?

BES : deviceside=false;
BIS : deviceside=false;connectionUID=<BIBS_Record_UID>;C onnectionType=mds-public;
TCP : deviceside=true;

This has worked for everything I've done.

BIS : deviceside=false;connectionUID=<BIBS_Record_UID>
without mds-public also works
p.s.
tested one year ago
on RIM OS 4.1 and 4.2
