Default Hourglass Problems

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,

This morning I noticed the hourglass is appearing on my screen every 2-3 seconds for a split second but it has been doing this constantly for the last 3 hours now. I know this is a very general statement but I don't know what else to add...

Things I have already tried:
1. Checking to make sure there was nothing running besides the basic 5 applications and BlackBerry Alerts

2. Power off battery pull (twice)

3. Power on battery pull (twice)

Neither #2 or #3 helped in any way

Drew, take the media card out for a time and see if it continues.

if you upgraded your BB, sometimes your Media Card does not like it and constantly scan the card.

But I have had the same media card in there all along and haven't upgraded anything. I upgraded to .77 some time ago and there was no problem until today but I will certainly give it a shot.

This happened to 2 UK users over the past 24 hrs, also our incoming email stopped and the battery was draining rapidly.

We deleted facebook and normal service from the blackberry has resumed, we are wondering if this might be due to an email quality update:

I'm waiting on that but let your tech support know that this fixed it and then they'll tell RIM, am talking to other bb users on other sites

Does your email look better quality now? I get things in bold and different colours and I'm sure I remember something about this being an update, I am looking for it in my google reader

Lightbulb confusing

hmmmmm, needs some more investigation, you're the 3rd of 4 peeps I've found that this has happened to, but I can't find where I read that update, maybe a moderator will have read about it.

I had a similar problem. It happened after trying to visit certain websites. "Script Loading" would appear in the load bar, though nothing would progress. These are sites I'd previously been able to visit, but recently have not.

Pulling the battery works every time. Though it's a pain to have to pull the battery every time I come to one such website.

Drewsb, in most instances I have seen this, is when there is a hung Javascript from browsing a webpage. Do you have this enabled for your Browser? 99% of the time to resolve this issue is to clear the Browser cache, worked for me everytime and in some cases a batt pull to clear anything resident in memory.

If you find this to be the case, perhaps disable the Javascript and retry browsing the same pages as before.

Deleting Facebook fixed the problem... I am just wondering since I have had facebook installed forever what happened in the last 12 hours and if I reinstall the app will it cause the same problem again
