Hi together,

I´m new to this forum so please have consideration for me

Currently I´ve upgraded our BES to the latest version to receive the new functionalities in association to the firmware > 4.5.

I also hopped to fix a server issue that I´m worry about:

For some users of the upper management it is necessary to redirect selected folders and subfolders which contains messages. No problems so far. But how is it possible to synchronize new created subfolders in outlook, automatically with the blackberry as well? Is there really no option or registry key that can be set, to allow a recursive sync considering new child folders?

I believe that you must manually specify any new folders, but a more knowledgeable BES Administrator may give us better information..

Yah any newly created folders must be selected from the HH, DTM, or the BES. there is no option to automagicly select all folders.

With the new 4.5 HH OS and the SP5 to BES, the need to sync other folders is minimized. You can now do a remote search of your mailbox from the HH, so why bother syncing the other folders and taking up memory on the HH? Just go into Messages, Menu button, Search. In the top field, change local to remote. Then choose the folder you want to search, the subject, sender, etc and Menu to Search.

Good point about the search feature. This can work with some of our current end users but not all. Some users get challanged by using the search feature.

Many of our upper managers want to see the data in the folder and have difficulty finding items using this search method. I see it happen a lot as they will usually open a ticket up for us to check their folder redirection and help them see the folder(s) with the data and mail items.

inside the bb console, you can right-click on a user, and then select CHOOSE FOLDERS FOR REDIRECTION. i synch a good portion of my inbox's subfolders. it is very reliable.

I think what we're looking for here is a way to minimize maintenance. Most BES Admins will manage redirection through the server as you said, but with 500-1000+ users, this becomes either an annoyance to users, who have to add another step to making a new subfolder, or a monumental task for a BES admin, having to constantly update every user's redirection.

I'm having the same issue. It would definitely be nice if there was an option under each user's redirection that just said "Automatically Redirect New Subfolders".

And while we're wishing for things, I'd like a new bike. :D
