Unhappy OS update did not restore applications

Please Login to Remove!

I just loaded 4.5.0.81 on my 8310. During the load, the application loader aborted with an error 5. I restarted, and it successfully loaded, but all my 3rd party applications are gone. Initially, I told it to backup everything and restore.
The second time, I told it not to (I didn't want it to overwrite my original backup). How do I get my theme and doc-to-go and the other apps I originally had restored to the device. I assume they got saved somewhere on the desktop.

(The original attempt aborted sometime after erasing everything from the device and starting to load the new stuff.)

The backup only perform backup of data. If you originally installed the applications over the air then they will not be on the computer. If you installed them using the Desktop Manager you should see thin in the Application Loader.

But the last time I updated the OS, the app loader backed up and restored all the installed apps automatically, including what was installed OTA. This time, when I was selecting what to install, all the prior-installed apps showed up in the list, and I checked the boxes to keep them. However, after the failure and re-start, they were not there at all. I'm assuming that the app loader must have copied them onto the host computer somewhere if it was going to restore them, and my question is where might that location be?
