Where did you get the file you downloaded and with which you upgraded?

This one has it.

Holy Memory free and no leaks.

Im not sure what exactly they made different from .69 to .81 but I gained 4-5MB Memory and its been on for two days straight with no signs of a leak.

I used to have 24MB free after a battery pull. I now have 29.9MB free.

I might be speaking too early but my tethering seems at a constant fast speed now compared to before where I would have to reconnect after some time because my net connection would start to drag at 6KB/SEC instead of 20KB/SEC.

I havent had any of the issues listed here. I also backed up, wiped, installed, reloaded though. Maybe its just me

Can't get it to work with DM 4.6.

I updated from 4.3 to 4.6, and then did the install of 4.5.0.108, but I can't get DM to recognize it automatically. Any tips?

Aight, so here's my experience.

I got the phone yesterday and decided to update the software from the 4.2 something that came with from AT&T.

The difference is huge: great improvement an an already impressive device... I come from a Nokia E62 masturbated by AT&T (if any of you had it knows what I'm talking about)...

Here's a couple things:

1) the first time the phone reset you get that 507 error (basically the one that say no OS is installed): I almost poop myself. But it's normal, disregard it. It's just not done upgrading yet

2) somehow my calendar got all messed up after DM restored it. Basically every entry was tripled or quadrupled after the first sync. If this happens to you all you gotta do is clear the current Calendar database from the phone and rerun the sync
Here's the procedure to clear the calendar database:
- Connect your BlackBerry device to your personal computer.
- In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open Backup and Restore and click Advanced.
- From the Device Databases list, select Calendar and click Clear.
- Click OK, then click Close.
Because of this I would recommend sync the phone with your Outlook before upgrading, make a copy of your Outlook.pst file (just in case) and when you run the first couple of sync make sure you check the direction.

The phone is a lot faster and graphic is improved.

I haven't noticed any change in ring volume.

I haven't got a chance to test whether the HTML email works or not. Will get back on it as soon as I get one.

Thank you guys!!!!

Hey, new to the forum, and not what you'd call phone savvy so forgive me if this is a ridiculously dumb question...

Edit: 1st question was dumb, removed.

I updated to 4.5.0.55 yesterday from the original 4.2 I got it with I think (video support now? That's cool). I noticed (I think) that the "number of beeps" option from my alarm is gone. I really miss that option. I used to have it set to one beep so that my alarm would go off once in the morning, enough to wake me up, but not enough to drive me nuts before I could 'dismiss' it. Is that the OS upgrade that made that go away, and will this upgrade bring it back? Thanks.

Edit #2: I decided to go ahead with the upgrade either way so ignore the question, and no, the "number of beeps" option still isn't there. It's not just me, is it? Any way for me to get it back without downgrading? Any other suggestions.

I should add that DM 4.6 thinks I have 4.2 installed on my phone, but my phone thinks I have 4.5.0.55

above you state 4.5.0.108 is installed. Now you are saying 4.5.0.55? Call me confused as well. While DM is up and connected to the BB, what does help > device properties say?

The latest version of OS is always posted in our Sticky Threads here, for each model.

Oh, that would be this thread.

So I'm thinking of downgrading. The only real upgrade I have noticed since my last OS upgrade was the video recorder which I didn't previously have, which I can live without...and all of that is outweighed by my desire to have my "number of beeps" option back on my alarm.

Can anyone tell me the latest version that still had that option. Please, all of you, check your phone right now for me and tell me if you can set the number of beeps for an alarm and what version you're using.

If I have to go one more morning with 100 beeps before I can get to that snooze.....

Meaning you never lost the option, or never had it at all? I upgraded from 4.2 I think, so they may have taken it out a long time ago.
