I upgraded my 8830 (VZ Curve) to 4.5 with no problem but when I try to upgrade to the latest version of VZ navigator I get an error. My original version works but I think the upgrade is very different (v 2.9 to 4.0)

Should I go back to 4.3 to get the upgrade? Does some know how to get it without downgrading?

Is VZnavigator supposed to run on OS 4.5?
Verizon Wireless hasn't even released that version of the handheld OS yet.

My guess is (along the lines of what soupandsandwich said) that VZNav does not support 4.5, and therefore will not work on it until sometime after VZW releases their official version of 4.5.

I would try downgrading back to 4.3, run the VZ Nav update, and then upgrade to 4.5. It's worth a shot.

I upgraded my girlfriend's 8330, as well as another friend's 8330 to 4.5.0.77, and then upgraded the VZ Navigator to the new 4.x release on both of them with no issues at all, it runs great.

They're 8330's and you said "8830 Curve" which is mixing models, but you DID post in the 83xx forum so I'm assuming the Curve is right and the 8830 reference is wrong! Do you have the 8830, or an 8330? Did you try totally removing the old VZ Navigator first, then pulling the battery, then download the new one?

I had the same problem at first. I installed the old navigator and then installed the new version. Works great now.

Same here. "Check for update" didn't work but uninstall and then download worked great.

This works. I had a similar problem in that I couldn't download VZ Nav on 4.5 so I went back the 4.3 and before I could upgrade again, the new VZ update came out. I downloaded and installed that, the re-upgraded my device to 4.5.0.77 and it works like a charm.
