Default Not receiving foldered email on blackberry on bes

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys -

One of the users here is not receiving any of the email he has setup with outlook rules to go into specified folders. However any email that is not modified by a rule comes directly to his phone and all is well. The folders he creates are showing up on the device (when you goto View Folders) but just not showing any new mail, just old mail from like October 8th. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot.

You need to add the folders in question to the folder redirection list. They will show up, but the contents will not unless you redirect the folders on the BES.

Oh forgot to add that I've deleted and re-added him to the bes to see if that was the issue and even after doing that I'm still having the same issues.

Forgive my stupid question here, but...

When you say this needs to change on the BES, you mean at the server level, right? This isn't a BES setting on the phone?

Also, is it just a blanket setting on the BES server (i.e., you set a flag that says "load subfolders")? Or do they have to activate every single folder for every single user?

Just want to know before I send our IT guys out on a mission.

You can control your own folder redirection from the device. No need to involve your IT department.
Messages > Options > Email Settings > click menu button > Folder Redirection
Expand the tree and select the folders you want redirected.

It can be done on the BB or via Desktop Manager (as well as the BES, IIRC).

By default only Inbox and Sent Items are redirected. Any other desired folders/subfolders must be checked.
