Is it only the 7100's that can have ringtones, or is there a way of adding new ringtones for any of the others? I just bought a second-hand 7750, and have just finished listening to the existing ringtones with horror -- they're all pretty apalling. It would be nice to be able to find or make something I could actually stand to hear ringing.

Once I open mobile Phone tools it doesnt let me go to Multimedia Studio. Wat can I do>??? and what you mean that I need a webserver??

I have the new Nextel 7100i and the .adp tunes do not work. I get a 406 error and then under details get a 200 error. The manual states the unit supports polyphonic tones. Does anyone have any info on this?

Is there anyone who could do me the great service of transforming this .wav file into a ringtone that i could then uploa OTA to my 7100v? I am running macosx 10.4.2. i would really appreciate it if someone can help me out. i would have to send you the attachment directly as it compresses to 108k which is still too big to attach to the forum

i downloaded some ringtones but they dont work when i get a text or a phone call its just silent, but it will work 1 time when i take the battery out but after that it doesnt work no more any help PLEASE

Ok, the whole MIME type thing shouldn't be all that difficult. . . but i can't test my solution (i am one of those guys who does not have a data plan on his blackberry - don't really have a use for it other than downloading ringtones- i could care less to be bothered by my email all fricking day).

I've written a couple scripts (php) that sets the header MIME type for a download. (i've also converted a couple MP3's to .adp files). These scripts should work just fine on any PHP server out there (if need be, i can write it for ASP too (IIS) - shouldn't take more than 20 mins or so).

Once the scripts are uploaded, all you need to do is upload some adp files to the same directory and then browse to that directory on your BB. select the link and all should be good. Again, i can't test it.

If someone would be willing to test it out for me, send me a private message and i'll shoot you a link where i have it running. . . if all works like i think it should, i'll post the scripts to this forum. Then it would be just a matter of converting an mp3 to adp and uploading it.

I had this same thing happen after loading some .adp ringtones. I tried seletivly deleting and restoring different content files but nothing worked. I finally had to just reinstall the handheld OS.

ok no one can get mad at me for not reading the entire thread, MY EYES ARE GLUED OPEN!! i've been reading this this for 4 hours now. my question has been asked but no one has given a solid answer. its the no option to save question. im sure you all no it. some of these people ask it when they have the wrong phone. i have a 7100i. no option to save. somebody pls tell me something to help!

i recently had this issue - a few months after i had successfully navigated to, played, and subsequently saved .adp ringtones, from the sites directed to from within this thread, my 7100t would no longer offer the "Save" option from the menu.

i didn't think anything of it until the 4.0.2.32 upgrade, when i noticed the "WAP Bookmarks" was replaced with "Download Fun" on the browser launch page. being an anal retentive nerd, i had placed the various .adp ringtone sites in the WAP category, and began to wonder if it made a difference.

used "Go to..." and entered a new ringtone site, added the bookmark, but let the default "Blackberry Bookmarks" category take it. chose a ringtone, played it, went to the menu option, saw "Save" and did just that. i then moved one of the existing .adp bookmarks to the "BB" category, and did the same thing with complete success. moved the bookmark back to "Download Fun" and could no longer download any fun.

to reiterate: i did this with my 7100t and can make no assertion or guarantee that it will work for any other device or user. (i may just truly be special, like my ma said.) otherwise, it may be a simple issue with your browser configuration and emulation allowances. or, it could be Sprint saying "No You Can't".

I don't think we can get ringtones i've read all 10 pages of this topic and nothing i still get the Error 406 Not Acceptable The Page you are trying to lad is not supported by the browser. Please try loading a different page error. Then i check details and i get the 200 Application can not accept the content [audio/adpcm] If anyone has any info on this for the Nextel 7100i blackberry it would be awesome these cheesy ringtones are not cool :(

I have read this thread multiple times. I haven't sen a mention to anyone having trouble using the Phillips tools mentioned in the first part of this thread. When I load the tools, it will not allow me to use the multimedia studio. It is grayed out. anyone else having this trouble?

Ok for those of you not able to use the media studio this is what u do.

Install it and go into the program folder of mobile tools
then run the media studio .exe file direct rather then running the whole program.

It will still try and detect phone. Have your Blackberry pugged in through USB and while it trys to detect phone unplug and plug back in USB and it will some how find it and open up media center

Now you can make tones.
