I"m running the Aussie version, MSN and my other messengers all reading fine but for some reason the Facebook icon has disappeared from the screen, and whilst an attempt at reload didn't work and my BB options > Applications says it's all still there - it just doesn't show on screen!!

But I do like the fact I now have video capability!

Do you have the icon hid on your homescreen?

There are a few differences. .81 is much more stable, and the memory leak problem is significantly less on .81 than with .55.

I just bought a new 8320 for Tmob. I don't think I need to wipe it, but I want to install the new Tmob OS before I use it (so I don't have to wipe a new phone). My DM will be upgraded first of course. Prior to this I used the DM with an 8100 that just died. My questions are: do I need to format my microSD card after storing the stuff on it? Should I update the OS before I put the oldTmob Sim card into the new 8320 phone, or after? I only want the Tmob OS, not another carriers'. I assume that after I dl/install that OS then connect the thing to DM it will know it's a new 8320 and take it from there, but will it restore it since I last used an 8100 to backup, or will that get messed up because it's a different BB model? Thanks.

I followed the stpes from How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ, but when I selects Application loader - Start, only appears Windows Live Messenger in the list. The correct version is 4.6.0.12 of Desktop Manager.
Actualy don't exists the vendor.xml file in my PC and the BB wasn't update.

Did I Have to apply first the 4.2 SP2 version in my BB and then the 4.x version???

If you did not find vendor.xml on your computer then either you did not install the device OS file, or you did not find where the vendor.xml file is.

You do not have to install 4.2 before 4.5. The only SP2 that I'm familiar with is Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2. That's Desktop Manager, not the OS for the device. Having Desktop Manager is not enough. You also need the OS file. The very first post of this thread has a link to the OS file.

1) Make sure you have the OS file for your device installed, not just Desktop Manager.
2) Do a search in Windows for vendor.xml, and delete it. It might not be where you think it is so a general search is usually easier.

Default slick but a few things

Hey, so far i'm impressed with the new OS; especially the video capture feature which I got working and it works like a charm!

However, I"m annoyed that they got rid of the 6-point font option This is really annoying since now someone else can read my gmail from 20 feet away?!? Also, I noticed that you can't customize the fonts and displays for the individual programs like you used to be able to ....someone looking into this?

I like the new features of 4.5. Unfortunately, upgrading tonight caused my phone to go into reboot loops. I'm in the process of recovering it now.

Upgraded my girlfriends 8320 to this new 4.5 OS but still don't have HTML email. Did a battery pull and still nothing. I have a 8330 and after doing a battery pull the option was there. Any help for her 8320?

Did this upgrade and now the phone has the 507 error. Tried doing the install again but it says the OS is installed but I have nothing but the 507. Pulled the battery and nothing. Desktop manager doesn't even show as connected.

Any ideas?

Okay so I updated to .81 on 10/21/2008 and it looked GREAT, however I am having an issue where my phone turns off if I leave it alone for a few hours. I checked the auto on/off feature and its is disabled. Is there some other feature that I am not aware of that would cause this? I polled other users in my company who updated and they are not having the problem...
Little help?
