Default 4.5 Delete Multiple Address Books?

Please Login to Remove!

So multiple BB Unite installs have Fed my address book and made 3 different address books. They are all called "Unite", how great. It makes syncing with Missing Sync a living nightmare, and I can't find for the life of me how to delete the actual address books and start fresh. I've deleted the "SYNC" service book, cleared "Address Book" and "Address Book - All" from desktop manager, done lots of google searches, and I can't seem to find a way to delete the dam books short of wiping the device.

Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.

If you guys are confused to what I'm talking about when I say multiple address books Ill take some screenshots.

Post # 16 and 17 here sum up the problem exactly. Any way to manually delete these address books?

MODS:

Please move this to either Beta You Then Me and/or BES Admin Corner, this is related to OS 4.5 & BES. Also, please update title to "4.5 Delete Multiple Address Books?"

I am not clear on what you have tried. Did you use DM to backup/Restore and clear the Unite databse entries on the device? If not, you should as I think it's what you are looking for.

What exactly are the unite entries worth clearing other than service books and the address book and address book - all?

Had to get a replacement device. Went and only backed up "Address Book - ALL" from old 4.5 device. Upgraded new device to 4.5. Restored address book, then re-activated on Unite. Everything syncing a-ok with MissingSync for Mac UNTIL now. Now I have 2 address books, both "Unite" with "0" entries. BB has some 200 entries and I cannot sync it. You cannot apply a 4.5 address backup to a 4.2 device so I really can't downgrade to get ride of this crappy multiple address book issue. Only solution is to overwrite sync after downgrading since the stupid OS 4.5 can't preserve database downgrade-ability or figure out how to handle multiple books in the first place.

Anyone find a solution for this? I am also having the same issue. I have 2 duplicate address books in my BB 8320 after upgrading to latest OS 4.5.

Same issue here. 8830 w/ 4.5.0.77. I deleted all my second address book addressed a while ago (no way to delete the second address book itself that I can see) and for some reason they came back again the other day.

I haven't found a way to delete the actual duplicate address books themselves yet but this article tells you to type "RSET" while within the address book options and you can wipe out all the contact in the errant address books. Also works for duplicate calendar entries which I also experienced after my last EA.
