Default Blackberry 8310 No Power..Suggestions

Please Login to Remove!

Hello My friend gave me a Blackberry Curve 8310. When i got it i hit the power button, screen turned white then shut off. I cant get the phone to power on at all. If i take the battery out and put it back in, it will show red on the indicator for a few seconds and thats it. Ive tried a new battery and charger and no go.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage).

If it doesn't boot--try using a wall outlet charger if you are not. If you are connected via USB to the PC, make certain that you have Desktop Manager (or the USB device drivers) installed, which you can download below.

Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

Download Desktop Manager from here:

Follow the direction in my first post, they are fairly explicit what to do.

Does green blink mean its charging?

OK did that. Before it was blinking green and said connected on the desktop manger, Removed battery like you said and now back to blinking green and says working on the desktop manager.

Suggestions on next step

Now instead of a blinking green led, it comes on and dims out and over and over
