Wirelessly posted (Curve 8310)

I've read through several threads on the camera's failure to launch and I think I've tried everything suggested without success. Could it be my device? The camera used to work, and as far as I know there've been no changes to the device since then, it just doesn't work anymore.

I'm getting the error message "could not start camera, close other programs etc". I removed PTT, the AT&T theme, deleted call logs, removed languages, pulled the battery with the device powered on, formatted/removed/replaced SD card...

Available memory: 20625078 Bytes

Should that be enough to start the camera?

Also concerning: when I look at database sizes Calendar is listed 5 times, but 3 have 0/0.0K, one has 1/0.2K, and one has 219/111.4K. Is it normal to have this many? is the big one too big or normal size? Messages (by the way) 410/553.2K, that's too big, right?

Perplexed...

1. re: the camera, yes that should be good enough. I would begin to suggest an OS upgrade.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...languages.html

2. The new OS allows your calendar events to be tied to email profiles.
So, look at Options > Advanced > Default settings and set your calendar to the default email account you want to show your events.
None of yours are large, calendar or messages.

Are you using a company provided BB on BES?

Did it work previously? If so, what did you do right before it stopped?

Did you try pulling the battery?

Same with me Sarosh, was working with original OS the stopped working, worked again after OS upgrade the stopped again... I'm not on BES, I'm on personal BIS & battery pull was 1st fruitless attempt at resolution (device powered on and powered off)

I pulled the battery cover on my wife's curve and then pushed around the camera lense. It fixed hers and it still works fine.

Leif, what do you mean pushed around the lens? Does the whole carriage shift around a little or do you mean you pressed down on the lens?

Sarosh, did you try this?

Just push around it like it is a loose socket.

Be sure and apply good pressure when pressing. Perhaps using the eraser end of a pencil.

Leif, I love you man. I don't know why, but I tried it again and it worked! Thanks a lot buddy. You really have to put some pressure on it but it works.
