Is there any reason why I couldn't take a consumer-bought storm, wipe it and then set it up on my company BES? Is there anything intrinsic about the device that is BIS-only for consumer contracts? Obviously, I'd put my existing BES sim card in there...

Facebook isn't preloaded, at least from what I've seen using curves... However, a service book does push down from VZW (and sprint) that puts a facebook icon on the blackberry. Use that icon and it takes you to the facebook download site. If the "Block 3rd party downloads" is set in the IT Policy, then the user can't install it, but that Facebook icon stays on the BB's home screen (unless someone manually hides it).

I too wish there was a "business class" blackberry... from the wireless carrier that DOESN't push these types of extra icons which are clearly targeted towards consumers down to Every device.

Our execs have had Storms for a few weeks, they are all on our company BES. My boss won himself one today at a promotional event in the cafeteria, I tried to sign up to win one but they had already closed registration (line was too long). He should have his in a couple days, it will also be on our BES here.
