I bought the storm at full retail because I had bought the Curve when it came out the first day. How many of you didn't have an upgrade and paid full retail for the storm?

I was not eligible for the new every two. $150 would have been nice.

Bought it for upgrade price. $249 - $50 rebate - $100 promotional credit (apparently my phone was long overdue for an upgrade) = $99

Like you "dcpuser" I also lucked out pretty good!

Well, at first I waited in line at a store and that just took too long and I had to get to work so I had to bail. I was pretty pissed. I contacted a guy here on the forums (was very helpful) that works at a VZW store and he ordered mine along with my "New Every 2" plan along with the INSTANT rebate of $50 (normally mail-in-rebate in a form of a debit card). In total I paid $99 plus tax. Not too shaby.

I can't see why anyone would pay the $499. I was not eligible for an upgrade, I just signed up for Verizon in September and got a Curve. I added a line to my account for $9.99 per month to get the Storm for $199 (no rebate required because my corporate account). I am now selling my Curve for ~$200-$250 and will use that money to pay the $175 ETF on the new line I just opened. I will probably be out of pocket around $125 for the Storm after I pay the ETF. Even if I didn't sell my Curve it would be $199 for the Storm + $10 for the one month of service on new line + $175 ETF. Total out of pocket, $385. That beats $499 where I'm from every day of the week!

I'm in the UK which won't help other posters. Being "out of contract" I got mine free with a £35 per month 2 year contract - which I had with my last BB anyway. Some things better in the UK?
