Default Unlocked vendor themes on the Bold?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone done this yet? I did it with my older devices and will consider it with the Bold if there are any hidden themes to unlock. The few themes that came with the Bold looked pretty standard across the various vendors leading me to think that the basic one or two that came with my device are all that's there. If anyone has done this via modifying the BlackBerry.alx file, how many themes did you unlock?

Please let us know what you can tell between them... I can see:

Precision AT&T
Precision Orange
Precision Silver
Precision Telstra
Precision TIM

...but apart from the background picture, I can not see any difference between them!

(Except that with AT&T you can no longer access BB Maps.)

Anyone have an "theme unlocked" copy of Blackberry.ALX (BOLD) file they want to share? I've modified it 4 times and all I get is the 2 standard AT&T themes. I've done this before many times with my old Curve and it worked fine. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the Bold. I'm running the .190 firmware if it matters.

If so can you please email it to me at: m-i-s-t-e-r-e-d (AT) c-o-m-c-a-s-t (DOT) n-e-t (remove the obvious fillers from my email)

Emailed to you too...

I just used notepad to edit the file (as notepad is not going to re-save the file in a different format than Word would)

I searched the document for _vendorID= and removed it, along with the "xxx" afterwards

so:

<fileset Colour="True" Java="1.0" series="9000" _vendorID="102">

became

<fileset Colour="True" Java="1.0" series="9000" >

until I could not find anymore _vendorID

Best to use the search button, rather then searching manually.

Here are the general instructions for unlocking vendor themes. As far as I know these will be the same for the Bold:

Exactly! What's the point of having these extra themes: except for the background photo (which you can change anyway) and the slightly different color band on top and bottom (orange): they're the same. Or am I missing something?

As far as I can tell there is no reason to unlock vendor themes on the Bold.
