Smile Removing "My Number" from call screen

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first post so forgive anything that seems obvious. I am trying to remove my cell number from the phone screen. It shows up with every call I make. I have gone to the call log, selected options, and under "general options," I have selected NO for Show "My Number." I have saved, and even tried rebooting the phone, however, my number continues to show up with every call made.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.

What software version is your Bold running? Mine is .185 and when I say no to Show My Number it does not show my number.

Are you trying to hide your caller ID? Because that is not going to do it. That will only hide it from your eyes. If you want to hide your number from the person you are calling, then dial *67 before the phone number.

That is not true. That option removes it from the call screen. You have to dial *67 to hide your caller ID from the other party.

No, I just did it. I pressed the call button, then Menu > Options > General Options, and changed Show "My Number" to No. Went back to the call screen and my number was gone. I dialed my other phone and my caller ID still showed up. You have to press *67 to block your caller ID.

Default Removing "My Number"?

Thank you for the responses. I am NOT trying to remove my number from other people seeing it when I call them. That is a different issue and a different setting. Actually, you do not really have to dial *67 before the number you are dialing as there is an option in your settings to block your caller ID.
I am trying to remove my number from showing up on my own screen when I call out.

But I don't want to mislead anyone either... I enjoy being wrong. It gives me a chance to learn

Phone Options>General Options>Restrict My Identity - Yes

Apoth is correct, you can restrict your caller ID from the "Phone Options-General Options-Restrict My Identity" by Default this is set to "Network Determined"

I just did that and then called my other phone. My caller ID still showed up. This must be a netwok specified feature.

I have always wondered why there is an option for show my number. Can you explain why it bothers you? Just curious.

I can't speak for the OP but it irks me because I already know my number, so why keep showing it to me?
