Not sure if it has anything to do with upgrading to the latest software release. However, when I send a ringtone to my phone via MMS, and open up the file, I can't hear the ringtone unless I mess with the volume keys on the side. Sometimes the volume is already set at around 8, which should be plenty loud enough to hear. It's only when I physically go up and down with the volume that I can hear the ringtone. I know this sounds very confusing, but I hope someone can help me out. Thanks!

im guessing its just a bug. i just got sent an MMS ringtone and it works fine for me.

Try pulling the battery. After almost 10 years of BlackBerry's I've discovered a battery pull fixes almost anything. Even the weirdest little glitches.

Yeah I did that, but still having an issue. Conventional wisdom would say that if you send a ringtone to your phone and open it up you should hear it. Nope, in order for me to hear it, I have to open it up and play with the volume keys on the side. This is even if the volume is up loud to begin with it. Pretty frustrating, but I don't know what else to do.

Are you making the ringtones yourself and sending them over? If you are, try adjusting the quality of the ringtone through the program you are using.

No, just went to a website, found a ringtone I liked and sent it to my phone.
