I want to use T-mobiles 8120 os on my recently unlocked AT&T 8110 I know I won't get the wifi functionality that the 8120 has I just want to have the myfavs app that comes installed on t-mobiles so I don't have to log in to the site or call when I need to change my "Myfavs" settings.

I've tried with deleting the vendor xml file with the 8120 software with no result I imagine this is because the models don't exactly match. any help would be appreciated

You cannot load 8120 software onto an 8110.
It is not possible. Software written for one model will not run on another.

You can run T-mobile 8110 OS on your At&t 8110 by deleting the vendor.xml file in the OS installation location.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the MyFavs app comes with 8110 software.

That and for the MyFavs application to function correctly, you would need a service book from T-mobile. Unfortunately that is not possible on the At&t network.

Edit: I believe if you follow John Clark's Optimization guide, there is a section that talks about enabling the MyFavs App.

I understand. any chance of a custom firmware? I honestly doubt it. But I feel it's worth asking.

No, T-Mobile does not offer the 8110. Just like AT&T does not offer the 8120.
