I've been having issues with the last 2 OS releases for the 8820 -

when i press the menu button in either opera mobile or jmirc (i've also got google maps and a couple of the RIM IM apps installed but they're all unaffected) the menu appears for a split second and then disappears. as i scroll down, i can see the menu flashing when the next option is selected but immediately hiding again (just like when the button is first pressed)

i've tried wiping the device and reinstalling the OS as well as reinstalling the applications themselves to no avail.

has anyone else experienced this before and how did you manage to fix it?

It's the theme that you are using. try different ones and then see. I forget what the themes that do this are called. Somebody will let us know. Transparent themes I believe is the term...

Thanks! That was the issue. I am using the plasmic iPrecision theme. Bummer that it does that.
