hi i just got a 8310 and i cant recieve ant messages i can send them but cant recieve a sms.any help please.

Check the 8300 section and use the search feature.

Pull your battery while the power is still on, wait a few seconds and put back in. That will reboot your system and reconnect you to the network.

If that doesn't work go into your email settings and resend your service books.

have you checked your firewell settings? options - security options - firewall - make sure sms is not checked

Service books aren't relevant for SMS. SMS isn't data.

Contact your carrier and have them ensure that you're properly provisioned for SMS. It's extremely rare that SMS issues are due to a setting on the BB.

Make sure your carrier has enabled SMS for your account. Happened to me once. Called and they put it on and I was good to go.
